An annual Careers and Higher Education event supports students with UCAS and employment applications; work experience is available on request.

This is why we offer a range of experiences including the opportunity to improve qualifications in the core subjects of English and Maths, and additional experiences in sport.

Opportunities for involvement in voluntary activities are also made available.

It has been lovely to have seen past students visit the Sixth Form, to tell us how their first weeks at university have been and we wish them all good luck in their new adventures.

Students have gained places at Cambridge and Medicine places at Russell group universities; Equally students have achieved higher learning apprenticeships after completing BTEC Level 3 options and A levels.

As part of our Sixth Form offer, students uptake the Extended Project.

This is an independent coursework project of the student’s choice and allows students to have an independent research task to discuss in interviews for work or for personal statements when applying to universities. It is an independent project that requires a lot of research into an ethical topic.

Students will have a one hour timetabled lesson for this and are also expected to use extra study time to complete it.

The Extended Project Qualification gives students skills that both employers and universities are looking for; independent study skills, time management, research skills and writing skills.

The North East Essex Education Partnership consists of schools in the Tendring and Colchester area.

It aims to improve teaching and learning and expand opportunities for our students attending the Partnership schools.

Students will be expected to undertake an enrichment activity and this is tailored to the students’ aspirations.
