Evan, I have been dating my current boyfriend for almost a year now and things are good between us.

We’re exclusive, I don’t doubt that he loves me and sees a future together, and he treats me very well.

In doing so, you may discover more “yes” than you ever imagined.

In 2015, after a joint investigation by the Santa Monica City Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the company was again sued, this time for allegedly violating California Anti-Spam law.

Investigators found that My Life was tricking consumers into giving the company their personal identifying information, and later their money, through false and misleading ads.

My Life gathers personal information through public records and other sources to automatically generate a "My Life Public Page" for each person, described by Mylife as a "complete Wikipedia-like biography on every American." A Mylife Public Page can list a wide variety of personal information, including an individual's age, past and current home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, employers, education, photographs, relatives, political affiliations, a mini biography and a personal review section which encourages other Mylife members to rate each other.

Mylife claims to have over 225 million Public Pages with information about almost everyone in America, 18 years old and over. District Judge Claudia Wilken ruled to consolidate the 2011 class-action lawsuit with two other fraud class actions against My Life.

I posted my new profile and that same evening I received a message from a man who, exactly one year later, would become my husband. The point of sharing that in two months …in three months …in six months, etc, is that all of these major life changes happened fast—within a year’s time—because I said, “yes” to one small suggestion over dinner and a microbrew. As people began to hear about my major life changes, they asked me how I did it. So I began to create workshops or, as I like to call them, “play shops.” This was meant to help people get out of their comfort zones in a safe environment.

A month later, I met the man who sent me that one-line note. By mindfully playing with people I’ve been able to unlock ability to say “yes.” People were saying “yes” to themselves, to their relationships, to their travel experiences, and to their lives.

I didn’t really like him at first, but I said yes when he offered to take me on a “real” date. At the beginning of the summer, I was a counselor at Camp Grounded, a summer camp for adults.
